JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities
- Assisting and managing patient interactions including answering telephones and handling calls as necessary
- Patient payments and receipts (including EFTPOS and Hicaps transactions)
- communication with patients (including health education and general conversation)
- ability to keep clinic running smoothly and efficiently
- general office duties (such as filing, faxing, ordering of supplies, data entry, word processing)
- clinic preparation and some cleaning duties
- correspondence with health insurance funds, MAIB, Work Cover, DVA
- manage patient flow to multiple doctors/massage therapists
- liaise with practitioners on matters requiring their assistance and attending to tasks delegated by practitioners
- administration of radiographic procedures (patient prep/image processing)
- working effectively with office software products, and practice Management Software systems.

Required skills
- Moderate computer skills are essential, including competency with Microsoft suite, web Browsers, routers, VOIP, social Media use, email, email newsletters, mailchimp.

Hours of Employment
We have two Clinics, Hobart and Kingston. Clinic shifts are divided into morning and afternoon sessions. The morning shift begins at 8:00am and ends at 1-2pm. The afternoon shift begins at 1.30-1.45pm and ends at 6-7pm. The clinic is also open Saturday mornings in Kingston.
The successful applicant will initially receive 2+ shifts per week, which will include Kingston, and /or Hobart, morning, afternoon and 1 Saturday in 2. The applicant must also be available to work other shifts in the event of sick leave and holiday relief.
Training
Initial training will be provided, incorporating both one-on-one sessions and on-the-job experience. All reception staff members are involved in attending regular staff meetings.
Wages
Chiropractic Assistants are paid in line with the Health Professionals and Support Services Award. During the training/probation period the applicant is paid at Support staff Level 1. At the completion of training/end of probation period the applicant will be paid at Level 2. The rates vary depending on the shift worked. The position is classified as casual, and customised with an Individual Flexibility Arrangement.
